The New Dealers’ War: Franklin D. Roosevelt and the War Within World War IIby Thomas Fleming. “There was scarcely a branch of the American government, including the War, Navy, and Justice Departments, that did not have Soviet moles in high places, feeding Moscow information. ... Sonic weapons at townhall meetings in San Diego county
These weapons – also known as Long Range Acoustic Devices (LRADs) and “sonic cannons” – may be non-lethal but they are not mayemless. Elsewhere, cruise ship captain Michael Groves suffered permanent hearing loss when he used one to repel a pirate attack, and he was behind it rather than in front. At full volume the noise level directly in front is 150 decibels, and even at 300 yards it permanently damages hearing.

Generally avoid:NewsMax — a neocon disinformation outlet for the vulgar.
Accuracy in Media — though they’ve done good work on TWA flight 800, this is just window-dressing. You know something’s fishy when they advertise a documentary film on Iraq as praised by a former Israeli ambassador, and promote neocons like Ann Coulter and Frank Gaffney (the latter signed the June 3, 1997 “Statement of Principles” from the Project for the New American Century).
Drudge Report — the news it leaves out is its news.
From The Wilderness (Michael Ruppert) — these days in large part nutty.
Rense — a mixture of wisdom and nuttiness.
Much of the “9/11 truth movement” — the truth about the cover-up is bad enough without exaggerating it.

Arianna’s friends.
What Really Happened — embraces the contradiction of Marxism and the Bill of Rights. Revels in doom.
Henry Makow — “... the Salamancan Jesuits, aka the Illuminati, [are] behind modern Libertarianism.” Truth mixed with nonsense like that. His ideas on love are worse than the Catholics’.
Veterans Today (Gordon Duff) — Simply dishonest. Julian Assange is not a Mossad agent and Zbigniew Brzezinski never claimed he was.

by John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt.Short versionLondon Review of Books, 23 March 2006.
Long version (pdf) “... saying that Israel and the United States are united by a shared terrorist threat has the causal relationship backwards: rather, the United States has a terrorism problem in good part because it is so closely allied with Israel, not the other way around.”
“... the mere existence of the Lobby suggests that unconditional support for Israel is not in the American national interest. If it was, one would not need an organized special interest group to bring it about. But because Israel is a strategic and moral liability, it takes relentless political pressure to keep U.S. support intact.”
Interview“The Israel lobby and its influence has been a taboo subject for too long. It is very important for the national interest that this matter be discussed at length and in a serious way in the media and on Capitol Hill. Israeli embassy bombing, Buenos Aires, Argentina
An account of the bombing in 1992 and another nearby in 1994. The article shows similarities between these attacks and the Oklahoma City federal building bombing in 1995 and the 7/7 London subway bombing in 2005. Unlike what the article claims there is probably no analogy with 9/11 and certainly not with the Pentagon plane.

Accused Letter-bomb Killer Extradited to U.S.
“Under extradition conditions set by Israel, [Robert Steven] Manning cannot be tried for the murder of the ADC official, or for three other politically motivated bombings in which he is a prime suspect, because they occurred after he became an Israeli citizen.” What ?

The County Sheriff: America’s Last Hope
Pamphlet by Richard Mack. When the Clinton administration demanded county sheriffs enforce provisions of the Brady Bill gun control law, he was the first of seven sheriffs (out of about 3,000 in the country) who fought it – and won, though he lost his job through the efforts of Morris Dees (Southern Poverty Law Center) and the ADL. He argues that the county sheriff has the authority to protect citizens from federal agents. See also this video of him and the CSPOA – Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association.

Ron Paul
U.S. Congressional Representative (Texas, nominally Republican), perhaps the only congress-critter walking on two legs. It’s been said that when you see a vote of 434 to 1, you know the 1 was Ron Paul. Unfortunately he waffles on the immigration issue, and has little sense of government corruption beyond socialism.
Rand Paul
The Constitution
Some interesting thoughts by Tom Mullen. The Declaration of Independence was the greatest document in human history. As for the Constitution (pre-Bill of Rights), one has to wonder about some of its authors’ motivation.

Oil is a vital commodity, but there is no oil crisis and any alleged dearth of oil is not a legitimate foreign policy issue. Even were there an oil crisis, there is nuclear power and who knows what other technical innovations that could flourish in a county free from crazy regulations and confiscatory taxation.
The Energy Non-Crisis
by Lindsay Williams. (Originally The Key to the Energy Crisis.) At a Ford Hall Forum lecture question period in 1976, when oil prices were record high, Ayn Rand said “I don’t believe there is an energy crisis.” This book presents evidence that the oil crisis of the 1970’s was manufactured by elements within the government. There is vastly more oil under Alaska’s North Slope than all of Saudi Arabia.
The Oil Reserve Fallacy
by Prof. Robert Kovarik.
“Proven reserves are not a measure of future supply.”
“... the Middle East does not have two thirds of the world’s oil reserves.”
The two thirds estimate refers “to a narrow category of ‘proven’ oil reserves, not to ‘every ... barrel of oil in the world’ ... .”
“According to a US Geological Survey report quietly published in 2000, there is more oil outside the Middle East than inside the region.” Saudi Arabia, to take one country, “may have one quarter of the world’s identified oil reserves ..., but it has only about 16 percent of all ultimately recoverable reserves ... .”
Myth: The World is Running Out of Oil – Peak Oil (video)
Interview with author of The Bottemless Well, Peter Huber.
Abiotic Oil ?
I was brought up on the idea that oil came from prehistoric plants, “fossil fuel” you know, and that therefore the amount of oil underneath the earth is necessarily very limited. But the notion that oil comes from prehistoric vegetation is largely conjecture, and it has competition. Some Russians maintain that oil is produced by an ongoing abiotic process, a process not involving living things, and at a rate that even today exceeds consumption. Apparently they have some good evidence.
